Karnataka Legislative Council witnessed an uproar situation in the house with the Congress MLC CM Ibrahim making a misogynistic statement during his speech on the Constitution.

During his speech, Ibrahim tried to support his point and drew an analogy between interviews for jobs and marriages. "When they ask experience for a job, why don't they ask experience during marriage looks?" he said.

This resulted in a war of words between the ruling and opposition parties. BJP MLC Tejaswini Gowda objected to his statements and said his comments are in a way derogatory to the women.

Following the uproar, JD(S) MLC Basavaraj Horatti requested Ibrahim to withdraw his statement. The session started after the MLC withdrew his statements.

The Congress MLC also made some more controversial statements on the controversial CAA and the EVMs during the elections. He referred to the detention camp in Assam as 'concentration camp'. BJP hit back at the Congress party and said they are comparing the Nazi concentration camps and the detention centers with the wrong record.
