11 States Assembly & LS Polls At Once

Update: 2018-08-14 07:02 GMT
Centre is keen to conduct Assembly Polls of 11 States along with 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. A Letter has been sent to Law Commission by BJP President Amit Shah conveying the willingness for Jamili polls.

BJP is keen to prepone the Assembly Polls in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand by one year for the sake of Jamili Elections. Even Bihar is likely to be included in the list as JD (U) Chief & CM Nitish Kumar is in favour of simultaneous polls.

On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan Assembly Polls scheduled to happen by 2018 end will be delayed till April-May 2019. Tenure of Governments in AP, Telangana, Odisha and Mizoram lasts till April next year. So, There won't be any problem in simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls.

Jamili Polls is a strategy of BJP to nullify the anti-incumbency in few states using Modi Wave. Opposition Parties have been opposing this move as they could sense a huge conspiracy.
