Are some BJP corporators in the GHMC in touch with the ruling TRS? Are they planning to ditch the BJP and join the TRS? Is the ruling TRS unveiling its Operation Akarsh on the BJP corporators?
Well, if you believe GHMC mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, the answer is yes. Gadwal Vijayalakshmi dropped a bombshell the other day when she said that several BJP corporators in the GHMC were in touch with her and that they were waiting for the right opportunity to join the TRS. Though Gadwal Vijayalakshmi did not elaborate on the issue, it is clear that at least some BJP corporators are already in touch with the TRS leadership.
In fact, there was a talk of luring BJP corporators ahead of the election of the GHMC mayor. However, open support by the MIM has helped the TRS get Gadwal Vijayalakshmi as the mayor. So, there was no need for luring the BJP corporators. But, at least some of the winning corporators of the BJP are from the TRS and have deep links with the party's top brass. There are reports that they are being contacted by the TRS leadership. The BJP is watching TRS moves with alarm and is trying to keep its flock together.
