Amid growing outrage over the alleged Hathras gang-rape incident across the nation, a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader from Uttar Pradesh made some rather shocking remarks.
A video of former chairman of Nawabganj Nagar Palika, Ranjeet Srivatsava went viral on social media, in which he denied the gang-rape charges and alleged that the victim might have called her boyfriend to the filed and might have caught.
In the video which took social media like a storm, the leader can be heard as saying: In such situations, when girls are found in fields, they generally have an affair.
"Why all these dead girls are found in Millet, maize, sugarcane, pigeon pea fields", he questioned?
So far, no BJP leaders have responded to the video and re comments of the leader.
The BJP leader even found fault with considering the statement of the victim as a dying declaration, as the victim's statement was not recorded before the district magistrate.
