Though the BJP seems to have very little chance of bagging the Huzurabad assembly seat, there are not one or two but eight candidates vying for the party ticket. In fact, the other two parties in the fray - the TRS and the Congress - have always had few choices and the candidates are almost unanimously selected. While the Congress chose former MLA and PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy's wife Padmavathi, the TRS has fielded Saidireddy, who gave a tough fight to Uttam Kumar Reddy in the last assembly elections. Both are formidable candidates. The BJP stands very little chances in this bypoll.
But, quite ironically, there are eight aspirants for the Huzurabad ticket. BJP leaders Jaipal Reddy, Bhagya Reddy, Ramakrishna, Rammohan Reddy, former MP Ravindra Naik, Sri Kala Reddy and two others are vying for the tickets. BJP sources say that Sri Kala Reddy, who is the daughter of former Congress MP Jitender Reddy and wife of former BSP MP from UP, is said to be the hot favourite. She is said to have the support of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Garikapati Rammmohan Rao. Even Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy too is said to be rooting for her. She is most likely to be nominated as the party candidate for the Huzurabad assembly constituency bypolls.
