In a move to highlight the plight of housewives under Congress rule due to the soaring prices, BJP state leaders choose Onions as the gift for presenting to the women who tie rakhis to them on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
There is a huge turnout of women at the State BJP office in Nampallu for tying rakhis to senior leaders like Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, Kishan Reddy and others. After the distribution of sweets, party leaders have given two onions to each of them. This unique protest against the skyrocketing prices have caught the attention of everyone.
Venkaiah Naidu sarcastically commented people usually get tears while cutting onions but now they are shedding even more drops when they buy onions. He reiterated that the abnormal prices is an indication of the failure of UPA government and it was common man who is suffering the most.
