According to the official reports published by the Election Commission of India recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has received more than Rs 356 crores from the Progressive Electoral Trust for the financial year of 2018-19. This is the highest ever received from any corporate by any party.
The saffron party has received donations worth Rs 473 crore from various corporates during the financial year 2018-19. The Progressive Electoral Trust, which is owned by the Tata Group has contributed 75 percent share in these donations.
Interestingly, the BJP party has received only 167 years from the corporates for the financial year of 2017-18.
BJP office secretary Mahendra Kumar Pandey has submitted the list of donations received by the party to the election Commission.
The list comprises the total donations received by the party during the financial year 2018-19, which is more than 20,000 crores.
