Black Day In India's History Completes 14 Years!

Update: 2022-11-26 07:26 GMT
November 26 marks a black day in the history of independent India. The Financial capital Mumbai suffered a big terror attack on this day a few years back. The iconic Taj Hotel saw victims screaming in fear with the deadly terror attack. The 26/11 attack is one of the spine-chilling attacks India ever saw.

The 26/11 aka 2008 Mumbai attacks happened exactly today 14 years back. The Lashkar-e-Taiba planned the attacks and rocked the nation for four days. 10 Armed men carried out shootings and bombings at crowded places and the Mumbai Taj Hotel is one of them. The attacks started on November 26 and lasted till 29.

The terrorists made the famous Taj Hotel target and carried out a shooting. After killing a few victims, the terrorists took a few people hostage. The counter-terrorism unit National Security Guards (NSG) conducted a successful operation and saved the victims.

Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab aka Ajmal Kasab was arrested by the NSG in the operation. After creating a ruckus at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and shooting people with his AK 47 he was arrested at the Marine Drive.

We should remember the Assistant Sub Inspector of Mumbai Police Tukaram Omble who helped in catching Kasab. Though Kasab was firing bullets he did not leave him and took bullets. In the process, Omble lost his life. To honour him for his ultimate sacrifice, a Bust was set up for Tukaram Omble, at Girgaum Chowpatty junction.

But what caught everyone's attention is that the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) wanted to show Kasab as a Hindu and IT cards naming Kasab as Samir Chaudhary, a Bengaluru resident also arranged. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria busted this attempt and seized the fake identity cards.

Rakesh Maria has written his autobiography titled 'Let Me Say it Now' in which he recalled the experiences he had in the department. Talking about Kasab Rakesh said that the terror organisation wanted to paint the attacks as Hindu attacks and a fake identity projecting him as Hindu was arranged.

The NSG and Maharashtra Police gave their best in dealing with the situation and a few officers made the ultimate sacrifice. They need all the honor and recognition here. Adivi Sesh's Major talks about the Mumbai attacks and how Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan made the ultimate sacrifice.
