Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Elections 2017 results were out Today. In the corporation with 227 wards, Shiva Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray bagged most number of wards (84). It's alliance partner BJP (81) isn't far behind.
While Congress managed to win 31 wards, NCP & MNS managed 9 and 7 wards respectively. AIMIM springs a surprise by winning in 6 wards. In 2014 Assembly Polls, The party won from Aurangabad and Byculla Assembly Segments.
There is every possibility of BJP-Shiv Sena alliance once again as no single party could attain magic figure of 114. At the same time, BJP has been desperately trying to see if it could lure at least four ward members of other parties to claim the Mayor's thrown.
Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray declared: 'Not only Mumbai Mayor, Even next CM of Maharashtra will be from Shiv Sena'.
