BMC Shuts popular Restaurant in Mumbai for allegedly violating Covid-19 norms
Earlier this week, the Maharashtra government reimposed Corona restrictions in the state given the rapid spike in Covid-19 infections rise. While reimposing the restrictions, the government has warned the hotels, restaurants and other eateries to follow the restrictions and violators will be punished.
However, AuberGin Plates and Pours, a popular restaurant in Mumbai's Breach Candy area for floating the Covid-19 restrictions allegedly. Following this, the cops registered an FIR against the restaurant.
After receiving the information on the same, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials reached the restaurant and slapped a fine on 245 people for not wearing facemask outdoors. The officials collected a fine worth Rs 19,400 from them reports claimed.
An FIR was filed against the restaurant for floating the 50 percent capacity issued by the governments and the customers were found not wearing facemask and they didn't even maintain social distance.
The D-ward of Mumbai's civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) which raised the restaurant is said to have shut the restaurant. The eatery will be opened only after Covid-19 fear gets over as per the rules.
As per the restrictions imposed by the Maharashtra government, cinema halls, hotels, restaurants and offices should operate with 50 percent occupancy till the 31st of this March. Establishments that violate the norms will be shut.
