Britain Queen Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip passes away at 99

Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II breathed his last on Friday at the age of 99.The Duke of Edinburgh who was born into Greek and Danish royal families at the Windsor Castle this morning.

The Royal Family announced the sad news of Prince Philip's demise on social media. In the post, the family said, the Prince passed away this morning peacefully at Windsor Castle.

"It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle," the Royal Family tweeted.

His Royal Highness passed away two months ahead of his birthday. If he would have been there, the Royal Prince would have celebrated his 100th century. Prince Philip was born on the 10th of June.

Earlier in February this year, Prince Philip complained of some health issues, following which, a heart procedure was performed on him. Nearly one month after the heart procedure, the Royal Prince was discharged from the hospital.

Reacting to the sad news, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson termed this a great sadness. Offering his condolences to the queen, the PM said along with the queen the United Kingdom as a nation mourns Prince's demise.
