5k Mortar Shells & 35k Bullets fired in 11 Days

The situation across the border continued to remain tense after the Surgical Strikes by Indian armed forced. Pakistan has violated ceasefire for over 60 times since October 19th. Most of the ceasefire violations took place in Jammu.

The Border Security Force (BSF) unleashed its full power to affectively counter the attacks from Pakistan Rangers and Terrorists. In the past 11 days, BSF fired 3,000 long range mortar shells (81 mm area weapons) which are capable of attacking targets in the range of 5-6 km and 2,000 short range mortar shells (51 mm mortar shells) that could reach up to 900 metres. As many as 35,000 bullets have been used. Additional Inventory of Ammunitions have been supplied to BSF due to rising demand and winter season.

About Three Indian Jawans have been killed in the exchange of fire since October 19th. As per an estimate, At least 15 Pakistan Rangers and few civilians have been killed during the same period.
