Buddh International Circuit To Turn As Quarantine Facility For Migrants
The nationwide lockdown imposed in India after the rise of positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the nation has resulted in migrant workers stranded at the UP-Delhi border.
Following this, the UP government has come up with a novel decision to use the Buddh International Circuit as a quarantine facility and the accommodations and food facility will be provided by the UP government.
The administartion will be using all the 20 buildings around the Jaypee Sports City complex along with the former F1 track to provide shelter and quarantine the migrants who were going to their native states after a countrywide 21-day lockdown was announced on March 24.
"As per provisions under Chapter 12 of the Uttar Pradesh pandemic COVID-19 guidelines, 2020, we have decided to use Jaypee Sports City, along Yamuna Expressway, as shelter home to provide medical, food, and residential accommodation to those, who are from Gautam Budh Nagar district or stuck without homes in our district," Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate BN Singh said.
