Bus Fares & Power Tariff hike in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao states its the responsibility of citizens to bear the burden of the institutions running in losses. He now wishes to revive Telangana State RTC and Discoms by increases the charges levied on the people.

KCR approved 10 percent hike in Bus fares and it is applicable for all kinds of buses such as City, Metro, Vennela, Luxury, Super Luxury, Garuda and Air-Conditioned buses. For Palle Velugu buses, The hike is just Rs 1 for a distance of up to 30 km and Rs 2 for over 30 km.

CM gave his consent for 7 percent hike of power tariff on Domestic, Industrial and IT Consumers. However, The power tariff hike isn't applicable for Domestic Consumers who's consumption is below 100 units per month.

As per the statistics, Consumption of around 60 lakh out of total 86 lakh connections in Telangana is below 100 units per month. So, The tariff hike willn't affect majority of the people.
