The Amaravati issue is a sensitive topic in Andhra Pradesh. While the ruling YSRCP is not showing any interest in developing the region as the capital, which was proposed by the previous Telugu Desam Party, the farmers and the people in the region are fighting on this. The issue reached the High Court many times and the court directed the state government to develop the region as the capital city.

The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party, which is trying hard to spread its wings in Andhra Pradesh is trying its best to bank on the Amaravati issue. As a shot in the arm, the Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a big Padayatra in the region.

The BJP has been supporting the BJP issue and extending its support to the Amaravati farmers. In the past, AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju assured everyone that the party is in favor of the Amaravati issue and would support the cause after coming to power.

Yet again, the saffron party chief of the state Somu Veerraju made sensational comments on the Amaravati issue. He launched an intense attack against the ruling YSRCP on the Amaravati row and asked what the government is doing without focusing on the capital issue.

Having extended his open support to the Amaravati region, the President of the BJP party for the state of Andhra Pradesh Somu Veerraju alleged that the union government has already allocated around Rs 2,500 crores for the capital row. In addition to this, the BJP leader mentioned how a four-way lane was constructed between Amaravati and Machilipatnam.
