The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana has been expressing its confidence in winning the upcoming polls which marks the hattrick polls. No party in the southern states has managed to do so. On a maximum, the parties have won two back-to-back wins in a few states.
But TRS wants to prove itself supreme over others by achieving the rare and historic win. As the party leaders have been saying the same, even Telangana IT Minister KTR said the same. He said that TRS would face a tough fight from other parties like BJP and Congress, but win the polls as a hatrick win.
In his recent Question and Answer sessions with the netizens, KTR faced many questions on various issues and when asked about the polls, the Tech-savvy Minister said that, under the leadership of KCR,TRS would win the third consecutive polls and script history.
Winning the third consecutive win is not that easy given the developments. Congress and BJP are getting stronger. Though both parties have less number of seats in the state, they cannot be taken for granted and they might make the party give its best in the polls.
Dalits and Bahujans have been voting for the TRS since the 2014 polls. With RS Praveen Kumar joining the Bahujan Samaj Party, the votes coming from the community might get divided. As Praveen has been saying that he wants Dalits and Bahujans to take up riling, he might make it tough for TRS.
It is said that farmers are facing a few issues with the TRS policies and in his recent visit to Telangana, Rahul Gandhi said that the issues would be addressed once Congress gets into power in the state. As farmers have been a loyal vote bank for Congress, it would be a big development if farmers turn to Congress.
Moreover, the Telangana wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been highlighting the point that those who have actively participated in the Telangana movement were sidelined and those who did not participate in the movement were given plum posts to rake up the Telangana feeling once more.
In the 2014 polls, the Telangana movement and feeling worked for the TRS resulting in a landslide victory. In the 2018 polls, the Andhra and Telangana feeling was raised as Chandrababu Naidu had formed an alliance with Congress and others. With BJP raising the Telangana issue, we have to wait and see what happens here.
