Can we expect ration shops for movie tickets? RGV

The face-off between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Tollywood film industry is still going on. The industry says they can't survive if the ticket rates are reduced at this scale. Countering this, the government says that, they want to benefit the common people.

As a development no one expected, director Ram Gopal Varma, who doesn't shy away from giving his opinion, had stepped out in support of the industry. Not happy with the statements given by Perni Nani, RGV posed a series of questions to him.

RGV is seeing the issue from his own perspective. In a series of tweets, the director asked why the government that wants the common people to have the joy of watching movies step in and buy the movie tickets and then sell the tickets at subsidy rates.

'By doing so, the producers will not have any issues as they can sell movie tickets based on the money they spent on making films. The government will also not have to compromise on reducing movie ticket prices. If the government buys tickets, then the government can sell tickets at the prices they want to sell,' RGV said.

The sensational director asked Perni Nani if the government is also considering having a ration shop that deals with providing movie tickets to benefit the poor like it is done for rice and sugar.

'Dear honourable minister of cinematography @perni_nani Sir, like RATION SHOPS were created to give rice , sugar etc to benefit the poor , would u consider creating RATION THEATRES sir?,' RGV tweeted.
