Suddenly, the ruling TRS is finding that it does not have the right kind of candidate for Nagarjunasagar bypoll. After two back-to-back defeats in Dubbak and the GHMC, the party is extra careful about choosing the right candidate for the bypoll. The party does not want to taste yet another defeat. So, it is now trying all permutations and combinations like the candidate's popularity and caste equations before picking the right candidate.
TRS sitting MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah passed away recently and this has necessitated byelections. The party feels that Nomula's son may not be able to win the election. But, at the same time, it feels that it cannot fully ignore him for fear of losing the Yadav vote, which is present in considerable numbers in the constituency. At the same time, the party is looking for a candidate who has an appeal cutting across caste lines.
The party is now conducting special surveys to feel the pulse of the voters in the constituency. The TRS is now trying to identify the issues and is trying to address the issues. The TRS is also trying to woo Congress leader Jana Reddy's son Raghuveer Reddy to contest on the party ticket.
