It is known that Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) moved Supreme Court seeking cancellation of bail granted to TDP Legislator Revanth Reddy who is Accused No.1 in Cash-for-Vote scam.
On Friday, The Apex Court turned down the appeal of ACB to cancel the conditional bail granted to Revanth Reddy by Hyderabad High Court.
While lawyer-turned-politico Kapil Sibal argued on behalf of ACB and Telangana Government, Controversial lawyer Ram Jethmalani turned defence lawyer for Revanth Reddy. Stressing that High Court's decision granting bail should be honoured, Ram Jethmalani argued extending the jail term of Revanth Reddy further will ruin the welfare and development works in the Kodangal constituency which he represents as an MLA. The Apex Court agreed with Ram Jethmalani's version and subsequently turned down ACB's appeal.
Revanth Reddy released from Cherlapally Central Prison on July 1st after spending one month in jail.
