Caste balance key to Telangana Congress appointments

Update: 2021-06-27 11:37 GMT
Finally, at long last, the new Telangana PCC is in place. A jumbo team including, PCC chief, five working presidents, ten senior vice presidents and three important committees has been constituted. Interestingly, the party high command kept caste equations in mind while constituting the team.

Among the working presidents, one is a minority leader (Azharuddin), one is a Reddy (Jagg Reddy), two BCs (Anjan Yadav and Mahesh Goud) and an SC (Geeta Reddy). Interestingly, BC leaders Jetti Kusumakumar and Ponnam Prabhar, both BCs, are out of the list of working presidents. They are replaced by two BCs (Anjan Yadav and Mahesh Goud). Similar caste equations were in place even in the selection of the senior vice presidents. There are three SCs, three OCs, one ST, two BCs and one from the minority community. While Madhu Yashki, a BC, is the chairperson of the campaign committee, Sayyad Azmatulla Hussaini, a minority leader, would be the convener of the committee. SC leader and former deputy CM Damodar Rajanarsimha would be the chairperson of the election committee, while fomer MLA Maheshwar reddy would be incharge of the AICC programme committee.Sources say that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy would be suitably rewarded with a post in the AICC.

Revanth Reddy is planning to take the charge as the TPCC chief in a lavish affair. He would invote several AICC leaders and PCC chiefs from various states.  He wants to make it a big and memorable affair. Through this he wants to send signals that he means business.  He wants to create a positive buzz in Telagnana.  Revanth, who is known for his oratorical skills and debating proves, wants to target both the TRS and the BJP at the same time.  Soon after being appointed the PCC chief, he met senior leaders Jana Reddy and Shabbir ali and sought their blessings.
