The sensational murder case of YSR's brother YS Vivekananda Reddy at his residence came as a sudden shock and sensation to the two Telugu states. The issue took a political turn with the then opposition Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party(YSRCP) and ruling Telugu Desam Party(TDP) accusing each other of the much-talked-about murder case.
Initially, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department(CID) probed the matter and after Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Sunitha started a legal battle, the matter reached the central agency Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI). The initial investigation went intensively and the former driver of Vivekananda Reddy Dastagiri turned approver.
The case took a big turn with the Datsagiri turning approver and naming a few names as the accused including the family members. He even said the same in the testimony he recorded before a court in connection with the case. This made many think that the case would be cleared at the earliest.
Pouring water on this, the CBI could not show the same speed in finishing the probe. In the latest hearing in the case, the counsel representing the central agency said the same. When asked about when can the court expect the investigation to come to an end, the lawyer said that they cannot say the time.
The lawyer went on to say that, the tentative time cannot also be not said as the reports from various forensic labs are awaited and until the reports come, they cannot conclude. As another reason, the lawyer said that the investigation is facing some obstacles as the CBI driver faced some threats from unidentified people.
The next hearing in the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy was pushed to June 13 as the court will be on summer vacation, After the vacation, the bunch of petitions filed in connection with the case will be heard by the court.
Before the 2019 general elections in Andhra Pradesh, YS Vivekananda Reddy was found dead at his residence in Kadapa's Pulivendula. Initially, the case was dubbed a heart attack, and later, it was found that the former Parliamentarian was brutally murdered as they were injuries on his chest and other places.
