The 10-month ban on Adult films on Television has been finally lifted. Viewers could soon watch 'A' Certificate films on TV, but post necessary trimming and cuts. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has taken a decision in this regard.

Pahlaj Nihalani, who is the chairperson of CBFC told the media that Producers of 'A' Certificate films were asked to make cuts voluntarily. Thereafter, Censor Board will be giving a final viewing to ensure it is suitable for TV screening.

As per the C&AG audit, More than 172 Adult Films have been re-certified as U/A for TV viewing. The report also hinted at corruption in the certification process and hence CBFC took the above decision.

Fast & Furious 7 will be the first film to get benefited from the change of rule by CBFC.

A feature film must have a Clean U certificate for screening on Doordarshan and U/A certificate for Satellite TV.
