Two Days Rythu Deeksha of YSR Congress President Jaganmohan Reddy in Guntur seems to have yielded good results. On Wednesday, Centre announced Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Mirchi Farmers.

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu assured that Centre will be buying 88,300 Metric Tonnes in AP and 33,750 Metric Tonnes in Telangana. 'Each Quintal in AP and Telangana will be purchased for Rs 5,000. Additional Rs 1,250 will be offered in the form of over-head charges such as packaging,' he said.

These prices will be applicable for purchases made From May 2nd to 31st. State Government will decide the location where mirchi will be purchased.

The decision of Centre has come as a bit of relief to Chilli Farmers in Telugu States as the prices dropped to Rs 3,000 per quintal due to high yield this year. In 2016, The prices had gone up to Rs 11,000 per quintal.
