To implement the idea, the Centre had launched the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) plan that aims at raising as many as Rs 6 lakh crore worth through monitising various assets.
The funds raised through the plan would be invested in created varuous infrastructure facilities across the country. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had unvieled the plan.
As per the plan, the assets of Roads, Railways, Power Sectors, Telecom, Mining, Aviation, Ports, Natural Gas, Stadiums and others would be monitised. However, Roads, Railways and Power Sector are going to be the main contributers of the monitisation.
The Union Finance Minister made it clear that despite the assets used for monitisation purposes, the Government holds the ownesahip over the assets and the assets can be pulled back at any time if any problem occurs.
