Centre mentioning Vizag as AP Capital increases political heat!

Update: 2021-08-29 12:08 GMT
With an intention of decentralisation of development, the YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had endorsed the idea to have three capitals, one each for Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

However, the idea has struck in between the law related issues to change the capital. The process has been going on since months. The government is adamant on its three capital decisions.

Amid this, the Union Government became the reason for a political turmoil in Andhra Pradesh by terming the shore city Visakhapatnam as the capital of Andhra Pradesh in its new document.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry had issued a document in the Lok Sabha in which it was mentioned that Vizag is the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

As a written response to the question on the rise in the fuel prices in the big cities, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry issued a document.

While the YSRCP and it's supporters are quite happy with the document, the Amaravati farmers are not happy with this as they have been protesting for over a year against the three capitals idea..

The document had also kick-started a new demand among the political observers if the Union Government had identified Vizag as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, the Union Government had submitted a counter affidavit in Andhra Pradesh saying that capital is the state matter and they can't interfere in the state matters.
