The Union health ministry has released the data of the recent survey conducted by the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) over the C-section trends across the states.
The findings of the survey stated that 10 states in the country accounted for a lion share of C-section deliveries in private hospitals. While three states account for more than 80 percent of C-sections.
The situation in Telangana over C-sections is alarming as several districts in the state witnessed a high percentage of C-sections. C-sections are reported in a higher percentage in private hospitals.
Karimnagar reported the highest C-sections in private hospitals with 92.8 percent, followed by Jogulamba-Gadwal district with 65.8 percent.
On the other hand, Karimnagar tops the list with 82.4 percent of C-sections in the state-run hospitals, followed by the Jangaon district with 73 percent. Komaram Bheem-asifaBad district reported the least percentage of C-section with 16.6 percent.
The Survey shed light on the diseases from which the public in the state is suffering. While 26.8 percent of men in Hyderabad are suffering from Diabetes, 21.2 percent of women in the city have Diabetes.
Looking at the national level, several states have witnessed a rise in cesarean section. West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir reported the highest percentage with 83 percent and 82 percent respectively.
