While many projects had been completed by him, Works of massive projects like 'Pranahita-Chevella' and 'Polavaram' were stopped abruptly due to his untimely demise. After bifurcation, CMs of Telugu States changed the names of few Irrigation Projects and projected them as their dream projects. Pattiseema and Purushothapatnam Lift Irrigation Projects have been completed in quick time because of the canals dug during YSR's regime. Whereas, The present rulers claim they have succeeded in the inter-linking of the projects.
Recently, AP BJP Chief Kanna Lakshminarayana declared - 'Polavaram....Narendra Modi Varam'. Quickly, CM Chandrababu Naidu raised objection and mentioned - 'Polavaram Project works had begun during Congress regime. Congress Party itself announced Polavaram as a National Project'.
Chandrababu projected himself as Anti-Congress since he joined TDP. For the first time, He spoke in favour of the National Party. In a way, Naidu has accepted the fact that Polavaram Project was taken up by none other than YSR. This statement has been a blessing in disguise for YSR Congress Party. TDP Supremo himself gave an opportunity for YCP to irk him when it comes to Polavaram.
