Telugu CMs Not Keen On Early Polls

Update: 2018-05-18 04:15 GMT
After emerging as a single largest party in Karnataka against all the odds, Strong buzz is doing rounds about the possibility of Centre advancing Lok Sabha polls. Actually, The term of the current Lok Sabha expires in May 2019. Upon gaining confidence with Karnataka Election results, Narendra Modi might advance the Lok Sabha polls to November 2018 to coincide with the Assembly Elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh where BJP is facing anti-incumbency.

Whereas, Neither AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu nor his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao are in favour of early polls for Assembly. TDP doesn't want early polls as the mood of the people is in favour of YSRC at present. Babu wishes to wait until he succeeds in making people believe TDP has been working for their well-being.

On the other hand, KCR isn't in a hurry to go for polls as he firmly believes the results will be in favour of TRS whenever people's mandate has been sought.

Telugu CMs wishes to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of their party based on the performance in Lok Sabha Polls. For them, Assembly Polls are more important than the Lok Sabha Elections. They would be using 4-5 months period after LS Polls to improve the prospects in Assembly Polls.
