After AP Chief Minister's one-and-a-half hour meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Centre give the responsibility of having a final view on the Special Status issue to Niti Aayog.
In the next few days, Discussions would be held between Niti Aayog vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya and AP Government to figure out a solution in view of Finance Commission ruling out Special Status to any state. Niti Aayog will prepare a road map for all the provisions mentioned in AP Reorganisation Act 2014.
The 10 Demands CBN placed before Narendra Modi is Yesterday's meeting:
1) According Special Status and announcement of Special Package.
2) AP have a resource gap of Rs 14,409 crore for the financial year 2014-15. While Rs 2,300 crore was sanctioned till date, Centre has to release Rs 12,109 crore.
3) Each of the four Rayalseema and three North-Coastal Districts should receive Annual Development Grant of Rs 300 crore for the next 5 years.
4) Rs 4,000 per year for a period of 5 years towards construction of Government Structures and Infrastructure in AP new capital Amaravathi.
5) 100 percent Excise Duty exemption to AP Capital Amaravati for 10 years.
6) 100 percent Income Tax exemption for 5 years and Capital Investment Subsidy upto 15 percent of the investment.
7) Incentives to Rayalseema and North-Coastal Districts on par with Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh apart from Annual Grant of Rs 1,000 crore per year for 5 years towards townships, parks and etc.,
8) Rs 1,000 crore per year for 5 years towards construction of 100 training and research institutions.
9) Reimbusement of Rs 2,000 crore spent by AP Government on Polavaram Irrigation Project.
10) AP Reorganisation Act amendments: Increase of MLA Seats from 175 to 225 in AP Assembly.
