The political parties in Andhra Pradesh have the benefit of having a mood survey soon. Yes. There would be elections to three MLC seats by March and the elections would have to be held immediately. These are not indirect elections. Two of the seats will have teachers as the voters and one is a graduates constituency, where young voters and graduates will exercise their right to franchise. These constituencies involve seven districts of Andhra Pradesh and thus will represent public mood in the state. The graduate constituency involves voters from Krishna, Guntur and twin Godavari districts, while the teahers constituency involves three North Andhra districts. Interestingly, during the last elections, the TDP had lost the teachers constituency and graduate constituency seats and could win the local representative seats only through machinations.
Both the BJP, YSRCP and the Jana Sena are taking these elections very seriously. Naturally, Chandrababu Naidu is very worried about the outcome of the elections as it will reflect on its five ear rule.
