AP CM Chandrababu Naidu spoke at length about AP Special Status, Polavaram, Revenue Deficit, Visakha Railway Zone and Other issues in Today's Assembly Session. 'There is no question of compromise over the promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. Special Status is AP People's right. AP would develop fastly if Centre cooperates. We aren't seeking any favours, just asking Centre what it has promised. People willn't forgive BJP if it tries to shy away from fulfilling the promises. NITI Aayog recommended Centre to offer the responsibility of Polavaram to AP Government. I refused to take part in swearing-in ceremony if centre doesn't merge 7 mandals of Telangana in AP for the sake of Polavaram. On three occasions, I had questioned Centre why it's neither offering Special Status nor Funds. I have been to Delhi 29 times, sent MPs, Ministers and Officials. There was no response despite repeated appeals,' he said.
Babu recalled he brought to the notice of PM when few Andhrites had written Suicide Note for Special Status. 'Then, Modi called Me to Delhi for a meeting with NITI Aayog. We have waived all kinds of agriculture loans, offered funds for Discoms and continued Old Age Pensions. We have lowered our expenditure to implement welfare schemes,' asserted CM.
Chief Minister disclosed AP Government spent Rs 7,000 crore for Polavaram till January 2018. He added, 'While Centre sanctioned Rs 5,349 crore, Another Rs 2,000 crore has been pending. The entire project cost is estimated to be Rs 58,000 crore. Polavaram Authority has been sending bills regularly. We had conveyed to Centre how we utilized Rs 1500 crore sanctioned for Capital. I haven't done anything wrong and there isn't even a single case against Me. Centre says Durgarajapatnam Port isn't viable. Why is it not possible? Only Rs 3,900 crore out of Rs 16000 crore revenue deficit was compensated. We have submitted all the figures but still Centre says we didn't offer them. Industrial Incentives & Bundelkhand-like package for Backward Districts are a must. We demand inclusion of Pensions and Farm Loan Waiver with Revenue Deficit. Why Centre didn't sanction Railway Zone for AP?'.
Chandrababu Naidu recalled Modi assured support to make Amaravati best capital in the country. He complained Centre is yet to pass the Tribal University and Central University bills. 'AP Government sanctioned Rs 11,000 crore worth lands for 11 Institutions. Whereas, Centre offered just Rs 400 crore. It didn't even bother to take up delimitation of Assembly Constituencies and this was part of the Act,' he alleged.
