The Andhra Pradesh state government is promoting the Chief Minister's name through gift hampers on the festive occasions. Now, another festival bonanza is on the way for the poor families in the state. Following his earlier trend AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced Chandranna Christmas Kanuka for Christians to celebrate the festival with joy.
Christians with white ration card will get a bag for this festival. It will contain half kilogram of red gram and jaggery each, half litre of palm oil, one kilogram of Bengal gram and atta each along with 100 ml of ghee.
The packaged gift will be made available for distribution at all PDS outlets in the state from the 22nd of this month.Earlier the CM has announced Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka for Hindus and Chandranna Ramzan Tofa for Muslims. The expenses for the programme is expected to cost Rs 300 on the exchequer.
