Uttar Pradesh chief secretary's pleasure trip to spend Christmas at Pilibhit tiger reserve with family costed the state exchequer Rs 25 lakhs.
At 1 PM on December 25th, State Government's chopper carrying Ranjan's family took off. The entire had to be on their toes for the whole day to ensure comfort of chief secretary's family. As many as 23 air conditioners and 20 generators were installed at the farm house where the family stayed during the trip. Air Contioners were used to keep the room temperature at 22 degrees celcius inside the guest house when its freezing cold outside.
In addition, A bhojpuri artiste and a troop of 6 members were paid Rs 70,000 to entertain the Chief Secretary's Family.
Samajwadi Party, however, calls it an official trip and says it has no knowledge whether Chief Secretary's family accompanied him.
