Chinese State Media omitting Jack Ma from list of Tech Titans leads to lot of speculations

Business magnate, investor, and philanthropist Ma Yun, popularly known as Jack Ma based out of Dragon country don't need any introduction. As of January 2021, he is the third-richest person in China with a net worth of $61.4 billion.

Despite this, Jack Ma has failed a find a spot in the list of Chinese entrepreneurial leaders published. The list was published by the media run by the state on Tuesday.

The sudden development has led to a lot of speculations on why the Alibaba Group co-founder was let off from the list of Chinese entrepreneurial titans. The experts are alleging the role of Beijing behind this.

Surprisingly, BYD Co. Chairman Wang Chuanfu, Xiaomi Corp. co-founder Lei Jun and Huawei Technologies Co.'s Ren Zhengfei,  and several others have managed to find a spot in the list published by the state media.

Xinhua News Agency showered praises on the Chinese entrepreneurs who were mentioned in the list. The agency termed them as people who gave fresh life to the economic reforms in China.

It has to be noted that, Jack MA, known for his outspoken nature was at loggerheads with Beijing, after he raised his voice against the financial regulators and state-owned banks. The Tech Icon took a step ahead and claimed that the system which has 'stifled the business innovation should be reformed.

However, this did not go well with the governing political party Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The concerned regulators have called for an anti-trust probe into the tech sector. Compared to the other Tech Titans, Jack Ma faced the wrath of the development.

Things in the dragon country China escalated quickly. The situation reached a level that, Jack Ma went missing for months. After absconding for months, he made a public appearance on January 21.
