Cong-TDP Alliance: Chiru May Walk Out

Update: 2018-11-03 04:09 GMT
The opportunistic alliance between Chandrababu Naidu and the Congress, which have fought one another for over three decades,  could actually prove counter-productive for both the parties. Instead of adding, it could subtract. Yes. The Congress is already well on its way to lose some stalwarts.

Take for instance, Vatti Vasanth Kumar, whose family has always been with the Congress. Vatti's father Vatti Venkata Ranga Parthasarathi was an MLC and Vatti himself was a minister. Vatti Vasanth has been very close to YSR. Given his diehard Congress culture, he found working with the TDP very difficult. So, he resigned from the party and is now working with Jana Sena. He hopes that the Kapu Community and Pawan factor will help him.

Another leader who could walk out of the Congress is none other than Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Chiru's Rajya Sabha term has expired and he has not been showing any interest in the Congress affairs. Even when Rahul came to AP, he has not cared to meet him. Chiru, it is being said, is now mulling over leaving the party. One reason is the alliance with the TDP and the other is his brother Pawan Kalyan is actively working for Jana Sena. Chiru wants to throw his weight behind the Jana Sena. So, the TDP-Cong combo is having unlikely effect. It is making crowd-pullers and leaders with grassroot connections leave the Congress.
