Union Minister Chiranjeevi delivered his maiden speech in Rajya Sabha on Thursday and it got a great significance as spoke about the Telangana issue.
At first, Chiranjeevi stated Congress leadership has neither taken them into confidence nor discussed with them before the CWC Resolution on Telangana. "I am speaking on behalf of AP, not any particular region as people from all over the state loved me and made me what I am Today. Sri Krishna Committee report which recommended United AP as the best option wasn't taken into consideration. Being a Congressman, I obey the decisions of the High Command and hence I accepted division even though its painful. But, the way T-Bill was passed in Lok Sabha without allowing the discussion and sans live telecast is unacceptable," he told.
Chiru, however, defended Congress by saying his party has taken the decision only at the fag end and that too after all the opposition parties have favoured Telangana creation. He alleged YSR Congress changed its stand on Telangana for political gains and TDP with its dual talk never bothered to address the concerns of Seemandhra region. "TDP and YSRC have done more damage to Seemandhra. TDP leaders should ask their party supremo what's the meaning of Equal Justice. Naidu don't have clarity. Chandrababu is in favour of bifurcation and that's why he demanded Rs 4 lakh crore to built a new capital," he said.
Chiranjeevi claimed he fought for UT status to Hyderabad. "During Jai Andhra movement 70s, no body wants Hyderabad. Today, why people wants Hyderabad? Because everybody's interest lies with Hyderabad," he explained.
