Chiru comes in support of Gangrape survivor

Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi assured justice to Swiss national's gang-rape survivor. He condemned the heinous crime on the foreign tourist who has come a long way to India for a cycling trip along with her husband. This incident took place in Madhya Pradesh.

As soon as the gang-rape came to light, Chiru came in touch with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to inquire about necessary steps taken to nab the culprits and the measures implemented to stop such crimes. He then spoke to DGP and appreciated the police department for taking the 5 accused into custody within just few hours. The actor even ordered the officials to provide accommodation in star hotels to the Swiss couple during their stay in India.

The actor-turned-politician felt the need for convening a meeting involving all state governments to pass the guidelines that tourists need to inform their nearest police station whenever they go to remote areas. He is planning to request Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde to hold such meeting as soon as possible.
