CID Slaps Contempt Case Against 17 Members For Making Abusive Comments On Courts And Judges
As a significant development in the contempt proceedings case, the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has filed cases on 17 members who made derogatory comments on Supreme Court and Andhra Pradesh High Court on social media
The Andhra Pradesh High Court, which took a serious note on the making derogatory comments on the courts directed the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) to probe into the issue.
However, in October, the state High Court felt that CIDâs functioning is not satisfactory and issued orders to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI).
The CBI which is probing into the case has filed fresh cases against 17 members based on the cases filed by the Cyber Crime Wing of the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
People against whom the contempt proceedings cases were filed have made abusive comments on the Supreme Court and High Court Judges referring to their castes. On the grounds of this, cases were filed.
