JC Diwakar Reddy's Statement on high election expenditure post the polling in Andhra Pradesh created a sensation. He had openly declared Rs 50 crore was spent in each constituency and statewide expenditure will be anywhere close to Rs 10,000 crore.
Election Commission responded seriously over the comments made by JC Diwakar Reddy over the bribing of voters by Candidates. Orders were passed to Anantapur District Returning Officer and Tadipatri Returning Officer to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report. Both these Officials offered a clean chit to the former MP in this issue.
Ahead of 2019 Polls, JC Diwakar Reddy retired from active politics and projected his Son Pavan Reddy as his political successor by making him contest on TDP Ticket in Anantapur Parliament Segment. As JC didn't contest in the elections, It became quite easy for him to obtain a positive response from the Election Commission. This would have been a different story altogether had if he made such comments after contesting in 2019 Polls.
