Former Kovvur MLA TV Rama Rao was initially charged with rape and murder case. However, it was later changed to molestation case for alleged molestation of five nursing students who has come from Kerala to study in Spruha College of Nursing run by the legislator himself. The case which was filed during YSR's regime in 2009 is said to be politically motivated.
After investigation, Kovvur Police found no evidence against TV Rama Rao. Later, the case has been transferred to CID which filed a charge sheet. TV Rama Rao was arrested and released on bail.
AP Principal Secretary B Prasada Rao announced Government has decided to give a clean chit to TV Rama Rao after examining the case and also withdraw the prosecution against him.
