CM Jagan Reacts Seriously On Boat Accident

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy responded seriously over the Tourist Boat Accident near Kachuluru in Devipatnam Mandal of East Godavari District. He made it clear that this accident which claimed the lives of at least 13 people will be treated very seriously.

CM Jagan ordered East Godavari Collector to carry out rescue operation on war footing. He asked the officials to use the services of NDRF Teams, Navi and ONGC Helicopters. An order has been passed to Ministers for monitoring the rescue operation.

YCP Government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the kin of the deceased in the boat accident. CM directed the Ministers and Authorities to be supportive of families who lost their loved ones.

As per the latest update, There were about 71 people, including 10 Staff Members, on the ill-fated boat. Most of them have been from Telangana State. While 22 People had come from Hyderabad, 14 others hailing from Warangal boarded the boat that capsized on its way to Papikondalu. Boat Drivers Nookaraju and Tamaraju were among the deceased.

Owner of the Boat Venkata Ramana told, 'There was a big whirlpool (sudigundam) at Kachuluru. The Driver hadn't handled the boat properly while crossing it and hence the capsizing happened'.
