Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh has been unanimously elected as Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association President on Saturday.
Post bifurcation, A petition has been filed in Hyderabad High Court seeking division of AP Olympic Association between the two Telugu states. Then, A Retired HC Judge has been appointed to look into the matter. Apart from picking up 3 Members from AP Sports Authority as the Observers, High Court passed the direction to conduct the elections before April 19th this year.
As no other person is in race for top post of Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association, CM Ramesh has been declared as the New President and he will be leading 102 Members.
At one point, There is buzz that Galla Jayadev is in race for the President post. CM Ramesh, however, clarified AP Olympic Association and Residuary AP Olympic Association aren't the same. "Galla Jayadev is a good friend of mine. Don't create a controversy out of nothing," he added.
