In a shocking turn of events, a fire broke out at a chemical factory in Eluru district in Andhra Pradesh in the late hours of Wednesday. Besides casualties, a few victims had also sustained injuries in the fire mishap. The cops have reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Reacting to the issue, the District Collector said that the establishment was shut temporarily. After examining the spot, the Collector ordered the closure of the establishment until further notice.
Earlier today, the Collector and a few other leaders visited the post and estimated the loss due to the fire mishap. Speaking to the media, the Collector said that, the families of the deceased will get an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakhs each and the government will pay the amount.
Adding further, the Collector maintained that the factory will take care of the treatment of the injured victims and they will pay for the same. He said that the victims include the Biharis who came to the city for employment opportunities.
However, the exact reason behind the fire mishap is not known yet and the Police Department is probing the matter. It is said that a few pieces of evidence were gathered already and the report is awaited.
