Global retail giant WalMart have decided to setting up their stores in Andhra Pradesh. As per reports Walmart India plans to open 15 cash-and-carry stores in Andhra Pradesh in coming next five year. Walmart India president and CEO Iyer met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and discussed things about expansion.
Speaking after the meet Walmart India president thanked Naidu for introducing the single window policy and said that all clearances got in 21-days. He added Walmart is also keen on investing in social and rural entrepreneurship and said that they intend to build skills of DWCRA women in the State. Chief Minister suggested that Walmart could explore on backward integration of agriculture.
Its known that Chandrababu Naidu recently met several CEOs of corporate companies in Davos in World Economic Forum meet held there. Naidu also met with David Cheesewright, president and CEO, Walmart International, and discussed on areas of collaboration with the retail giant.
Walmart presently has three stores in Andhra Pradesh at prime cities like Vijayawada, Guntur and Rajahmundry.
