Ahead of the Congress Working Committee(CWC) meeting, 23 Congress senior leaders wrote to party chief Sonia Gandhi and sought overall changes in the party to reform the party reportedly.
It has been widely reported that 23 congress leaders that include former Chief Ministers, key leaders, and former Union Ministers sent a letter to Sonia Gandhi.
It is believed that the leaders stressed overall changes in the party at various levels. The leaders reportedly mentioned the success of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) as the youth of the country supported BJP.
In the letter, the leaders called for the decentralisation of power in the party and said the uncertainty of the leadership resulted in weakening the party that ultimately lead to the loss of the party in elections.
The leaders highlighted the damage caused by the delay in the appointment of state chiefs and the restrictions imposed on the chiefs from taking the organizational decisions reportedly.
