Coming Soon: TJS Merger With Congress?

Update: 2018-12-19 07:47 GMT
The next 5 Years is going to be tough for all the Opposition Parties in Telangana. Particularly, Prof Kodandaram-led Telangana Jana Samithi had to struggle for survival. Although it didn't win a single MLA Seat in the Early Polls, A section of people have been still loyal to TJS. The million dollar question would be whether it can survive till the next Assembly Polls.

Huge Financial Resources are a must for any Political Party to survive. This is why most of the Regional Parties who fail to get hold of power end up merging with Congress & that's what happened in the case of Praja Rajyam Party as well. Although Congress moved the proposal of merger, Prof.Kodandaram doesn't want to shut down TJS as of now.

In the review meeting of TJS, Few Leaders suggested Prof Kodandaram to maintain distance from Congress Party. It is learnt that Kodandaram is of the view TJS needs the support of Congress to emerge as a strong force in future. Few days later, Kodandaram attended the swearing-in ceremony of Congress CMs in three states. This is when Rahul Gandhi discussed with TJS Chief about the possibility of merger. Congress Chief tried to convince that Kodandaram by mentioning about the mutual benefits of merger. While Congress gets strengthened with the entry of Kodandaram, TJS Chief could be nominated for Rajya Sabha so that he could voice his opinion in Parliament. However, Kodandaram hasn't given any assurance to Congress High Command. He just told that decision would be taken after holding discussion with party leaders.
