Nandyal by-election is drawing all the attention due to the rapid changes in the political equations. In 2014, YCP Candidate Bhuma Nagireddy won against TDP Candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy. He, however, shifted loyalties to TDP within 2 years upon getting attracted to Operation Akarsh. Just before the cabinet expansion, The Sitting MLA passed away because of cardiac arrest. This tragedy led to the by-election in the constituency.

After TDP decided to offer ticket for Brahmananda Reddy (Bhuma's Elder Brother Sekhar Reddy's Son), Shilpa Mohan Reddy joined YSR Congress and he was picked up as the candidate for upcoming by-election. The contest got interesting after Akhila Priya and Shilpa challenged that they would quit politics if their party loses in by-election.

Now, AP Congress Chief Raghuveera Reddy declared his party will field candidate in Nandyal by-poll. He, however, said the candidate is yet to be selected. In that way, It's going to be a 3-corner contest in Nandyal by-election.
