Congress quandary over PK's meet with KCR, Revanth confused

Update: 2022-04-25 06:12 GMT
There is utter quandary in the Telangana Congress over poll strategist Prashant Kishor's  recent meeting with KCR at Pragathi Bhavan.  The party is in a confusion as to what Prashant Kishor is up to. On one hand, PK has confirmed that he is all set to join the Congress party and that he would work out strategies for the party's victory in 2024.

At the same time, his hobnobbing with KCR, who is Congress Party's arch rival, has not gone down well with the Congress cadre. "How can he work for the TRS and at the same time be a Congress member," is the common refrain among the party leaders. Many have in private sought to know how he can join the Congress, occupy a key post, plan strategies for the party and at the same time work for the TRS.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy is the most confused.  He built all his politics on the plank of anti-Congressism. If the Congress aligns with the TRS for 2023 or 2024 elections, his anti-Congressism will go for a toss. He would be seen as a cohort of the Congress Party. However, Revanth is maintaining a studious silence on the PK issue.

He said that the High Command will decide on the job that would be given to PK after he joins the Congress Party.  He said that one cannot work for any other party after joining the Congress Party.

He also said in the past that the Congress Party did not need PK. Every Congressman was Prashant Kishor, he had said.  Now, he is almost getting ready to eat his own words.

Other Congress leaders too are silent on the PK issue. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy refused to comment on the issue and said that he would not like to pass any comment on PK's meeting with KCR. He said he would abide by any decision that the party high command takes. Party's working president T Jagga Reddy said that there was no confusion in the party about PK's joining. He said that the decision of the high command was final on any given issue.
