Congress Refuses To Learn From Mistakes

The Congress in Telangana, it appears, is refusing to learn any lessons from his downward spiral. The party, which is out of power for the last seven years in the state, is still riven by groupism and internal power struggles. The Congress workers clashed bitterly among themselves right in the presence of PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy. Despite repeated requests, they quarrelled forcing the leaders to leave the venue in a huff.

On Thursday, the Congress Party had organised a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Graduate Constituency elections in Mahabubabad. Even as the Uttam Kumar Reddy was addressing the party workers, a section took objection to ignoring their leader. The organisers did not mention the name of local leader Nehru Nayak. Soon, another leader Murli Nayak and his supporters raised slogans against former Union Minister Balaram Nayak. Though Balaram Nayak pleaded with folded hands to relent, they did not pay any heed. Balaram Nayak said the local disputes could be settled later and repeatedly appealed to the workers to display some unity. Some angry workers even charged towards the dais.

As a result, the meeting was hurriedly concluded and the party leaders left the venue. The sloganeering and fisticuffs continued for some more time.
