Is the TDP, which is in the opposition in AP and is struggling to find its feat after the shocking defeat in the 2019 elections, planning to get closer to the Congress Party? What explains the get together of the TDP leaders with the Congress and the DMK leaders in Delhi the other day? The rumour mill has gone into a tizzy over the get together.
The other day, the DMK opened its Delhi office. Sonia Gandhi was the chief guest on the occasion. Tamil Nadu CM Stalin was also present. TDP MPs Galla Jaydev, K Rammohan Naidu and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar too attended the meeting. They had a freewheeling chitchat with Sonia Gandhi on the occasion.
Senior leaders like Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, CPI national general secretary D Raja, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, former CM of Jammu Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, DPI leader Tol Thirumavalavan and others were present. Even MDMK leader Vaiko was present.
Many of the anti-BJP parties were present on the occasion. Naturally, anti-BJP politics came up for discussion. Now, the attendance of the TDP leaders at the meeting cannot happen without the knowledge of Chandrababu naidu.
Naturally, this gave rise to questions as to whether the TDP is planning to join a Congress-led coalition at the national level. As of now, the TDP is trying to brush this off as a casual get together with no political intention. But, the buzz is refusing to die.
